In your international foundation year, you will study courses related to your intended field of study alongside English to develop and enhance your skills as a student. Advancement into your intended program depends upon successful completion of the pathway program. The International Foundation Year in Business, Humanities and Social Sciences will provide you with the skills and tools necessary for success in an undergraduate degree in a plethora of fields. During your time at Queen's University Belfast, you will study core subjects as well as optional subjects intentionally crafted for your chosen field of study. All of these skills will be key for future academic success at Queen's University Belfast. The Music and Sound Design programme is designed for musicians interested in composing music and designing sound for a wide range of contexts but with particular emphasis on film and theatre. Students will gain practical knowledge and experience of composing in the studio, composing for instrumental forces, song-writing and scoring for picture. Working alongside leading audio professionals students will also learn innovative methods of capturing, synthesising and manipulating sound, enabling the design of sonic environments to accompany picture, stage productions, radio and gaming.
